how to adjust shifting cable

hello,
i have a mitsubishi eclipse gsx, and i am having problem on shifting gears.
(manual transmission)
someone replied me and told me to adjust the shift cable. i looked up in the repair manual, but still dont know how.

plz, can anyone tell me how to do it???
