Af server fund...suggestion

Hey Guys I was thinking this whole server thing sucks.. I personally dont have a c.c. that i can donate money with but what i do have is some spare models.. What i was thinking is hold auctions for models kits that us as members donate and all proceeds go towards the server.. Think about it if 40 members(i know we have tons more) donate one model each at ave of 20 bucks a model thats 800 bucks.. Or even dontate parts, builts, or whatever.. Nice chunk of change for the server fund.. Possably do it here or on ebay.. Lets hear your feedback on this.. Later Rick S..

hhmmm, its not that bad of an idea, im gonna think about it, lately ive been talking people into letting me build replicas of their cars and i might contribue a little bit, but i dont have a cc either. and parents wont use theirs for any thing that has to do with the computer, so yeah idk im gonna think about it

I'm just in the middle of a trade and suggested that the other AFer pay the donation fund instead of myself, so basically, my goods and services are my donation to AF.

We can also go back and delete our own post's that are of little or no consequence at present. Wouldn't this help the overload situation?

I doubt it, since storage and retrieval are two separate functions.

It's not that the server is out of room, it's the fact it's being asked to retrieve a certain amount of information at once.

So, if I have the idea right, it would only help to remove the most popular topics. But then what's the point of the board?

I just looked at it said there are 979 users at the moment. althought less than 100 were guests that's still almost 1000.

If ever body gave 10 bucks it would be more than enough.
