awd escort?

does anyone know how hard it would be to swap the awd drivetrain from a mazda 323 gt-x into an escort?
it has the same wheelbase as a ford laser tx3,which is the same body as the escort.
any info will help thanx.

uh, why not just buy a complete 323 GTX and drive that instead of going to all the trouble of putting the 4wd running gear into an Escort. all the money you'd otherwise spend could be channeled into making the mazda even quicker.

That sounds like somthing I would say, but there are reasons.
1) Get a recked GTX for cheap, with the money saved from not buying a good running condition GTX, the $$ can be put into the motor.
2) Much cheaper insurace, with the $$ saved, it can be put into the motor.
3) Sleeper, its a lot more fun suprising some one in a regular escort instead of a car exspected to go fast.

you guys need to try harder i've got a 94 4-dr h/b with a 2.0 zetec, hks t-51r turbo, aem programmable engine management system, all wheel drive swap out of a mazda 323 gt-x,and a 3inch cat-back custom ehhaust into an obx type r muffler. no offense but look not to the older cars(turbo coupe, exp, and so on)for performance, but to the brave new world of the focus' in the junkyard(and nopi.com)
happy turbocharging=)
