Well I work for Lotus Cars USA, so, you guessed right, that means that the Exige S2 will be readily avlaiable in the US. This car will be very quick and I'm just kidding. I just did a simple search for Exige S2 on Google 'images' and these 2 were the only ones that came in. If you do this search then you will find links to these cars' reports etc. Sorry to get you all "revved" up about the Lotus USA thing, I was just joking around, that would be my ultimte dream job.

Notice the beautiful rims on the white car?
Notice the quad tailpipes on the orange model?
This car looks HOT. I do know that the white prototype is in a garage where they tune the Lotus Championship S1 Elises. In that garage there were 2 Lotus Sport Elises and one standard (maybe tuned) Elise S2, and this particular car. I guess a worker forgot to pull the cover over the Exige S2 before the end of the day.

The whereabouts of the orange S2 are unknown. It looks as if it is around a public place, so if any of you are near Coventry, be sure to take a camera with.

Okay dudes. Bad news, followed by amazing news. Bad news:
Those 2 pictures had the following responses on a Lotus forum:

Nightmare Wednesday 27th August post.asp?

sadly I think CVP is right. Look closely at the exhausts.....the additionals are simple clones of the existing (shadows and markings identical). Also, as you say, quality is too low for the car compared to scenery. Also seems unlikely they wouldnt have vented behind the front wheels....think this is someones dream

looks good though!
beechy
I saw the first one of those pics on hear a couple months ago and someone claimed that it was some kind of cuctom car that lotus were doing for someone

CVP Wednesday 27th August post.asp?

Don't know about the first picture, but the second is the side of the Bell & Colvill showroom at East Horsley. Therefore this car should at least have a numberplate surround even if the plate has been blanked for confidentiality. Call them and see if they know what's up

Not sure Lotus would go for a quad exhaust pipe look just for an Exige. Surely they would just use the standard twin exhaust set up of the factory 190?

I am also a keen photographer and have done quite a bit of digital image editing and this looks like it has been edited. There's too much blurring around the roofline, espcially on the side nearest the showroom doors. It is inconsistent with the detail shown around the edges of the Esprit parked further away which is much sharper. Perhaps one of our resident image experts such as Four Wheel Drift can give a much more informed opinion.

Having said all that I'd love to be proved wrong as apart form the quad exhaust I think this interpretation looks pretty good.

Chris

That said, here are the good news. These news are the best yet:

Re: This excited me (hint: S2)

I saw an Exige S2 at the lotus dealership today, while it isn't supposed to be out yet (i think). It was a test car that was crashed on the circuit. It had black tape on the backside to cover up the damage, and the right side mirror was shaterred.
