Stage1 Kit legal in CA

Whats up Guys,

Picked up a SRT-4 about 3 months back and wen't down to the dealer to buy the Stage1 kit, but they told me they can't install it because it will void my warrenty. They told me some BS that its for off road use only and its not smog legal. Has anyone ran into the same problem as me? I was thinking of buying it and installing it my self but if something breaks and the dealer finds out, I don't want my warrenty voided. Any suggestions??

Thanks
-Bri

Well, if you go here: http://www.mopar.com/perf_srt_turbo.html it says right on the Mopar website, about the Stage 1 kit, "Not legal for sale or use on pollution controlled motor vehicles." Also, if you buy their little Stage 1 kit, if anything goes wrong with your car they can't refuse to fix it. They have to prove that it was the fault of the aftermarket parts before they can refuse to fix the problem.

Also, the package may not "technically" be smog legal in CA, but it will probably pass smog anyway. It probably just doesn't have a CARB certification. Although, that's a risk you'd have to take if you want the extra performance.
