Is the WRX considered a "Ricer"?

I was surfing Google's image search for WRXs and came across this page:
http://lcd.homeip.net/cars/rice.html

Check out the silver WRX a little down the page. The whole page is kinda dumb anyway, but I don't see what the heck this guy is talking about. Anyway... I will continue in my quest to find more cool pics of my fav' car.

Well, yeah. Besides the look of foriegn cars compared to Dodge, Chevy and Ford cars, I generally like the looks of them better. Plus, you bring up a big point; performance... If that Honda Civic or whatever has got the power, how can you knock it? The only thing I find really distasteful is the over-done spoilers that look like they came out of an Erector Set toy.

Wink

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The strange thing is this guy has devoted a lot of effort to putting down Japanese and German cars. There is a theory that the most aggressive 'anti-gay's' are so because deep inside they have strong gay feelings and are afraid someone might find out, so they over compensate. I bet this guy is a closet 'Rice' lover.

How insecure do you have to be to make a webpage specifically to put down other's tastes in cars?

Question 1: On the pic with the caption "Italian Rice"... That's a Chevy Beretta... What's italian about it?

Question 2: On the bottom pic labeled "Now that's desperate"... It's a custom made header. What's rice or "desperate" about it? Does he think they have to be nice and rounded edges and chrome plated to work right?

Conclusion: Lame

edit: Webmaster: [email protected] - Not that I'm encouraging anyone to do anything... just thought you'd like to know

There's a little Italian flag right in the middle of the windshield (or inside the car somewhere.)

well basically i would classify rice as "all show no go" or something that reaaaaly doesn't make sense to put on a street car (somone in another forum was asking to buy the "cheese grater" spoiler that the WRC car has...if i saw that on a car, power or no power, it's rice simply because it serves no real purpose on the street...how often would you drive you car sideways to need the vertical slats in the spoiler, and even if you did occasionaly (which i highly doubt, but anyways) i don't think anyone would do it enough to negate the weight impact (i hear they're not too light of a spoiler esp since most people wouldn't be able to afford to real wrc one)

but anyways, the wrx on the site is virtually stock looking...so i don't see how that could be rice

I agree on the term Rice, riced out - "ALL SHOW NO GO" basically it would just be looks like the underglows, stickers, but mainly all stock engine. I dont think he know about rice much.. All i know is that im working on the mods from the inside first, then outside

Well, most Asians who are into the car scene don't really go for off-road or rally, so I never thought of the WRX as being a rice car. I do like some so-called "rice rockets", especially the Integra. But the WRX is still my favorite car, regardless of nationality. The guy's just stupid.
