ECU Upgrading

What modifications require you to UPGRADE your ECU?

I have a D16Y8...I wasn't sure when I should Upgrade my ECU, or if it's even neccesary.

not unless you have alot of stuff done but you can get a ECU thats more sport tuned and it'll add some pick up but will drop gas miles.
