i was just wonderin if anyone every paint their car by theirselve...if ya did how much did it cost ya to paint it...or is it just cheaper to have a shop paint?
And how easy is it to swap a D16Z6 head onto a 88-91 Honda Crx Si? ...Thanks.... |

well, i suck at painting. so it took me more time and money and looks like crap. so I'm of the opinion, unless you've got all the right stuff and experience, just have a shop do it and be done with it. its an embarrasment to have a sweet looking prelude with a aweful looking driver front fender.

a lot of people say it's easy. sure, it's easy to do. however, you run the chance or spraying the paint too dry or get runs if too wet. if you have the right tools...you could try. but always be prepared for lots of wet sanding as for the head question.....that is a long answer. in short, yes it can be done. no, it is not recomended. the d16z6 and d16y8 have become so cheap it is better to just drop in the whole thing. it will be more reliable for daily driving....the head swap isn't very efficent.
