clean it whenever u get a chance to, filters get soo dirty fast, it wont hurt the filter if u cleaned it every day i know no one would but im just saying, the more often u clean it the better cause your car will run nicer

it would also be nice to have enough cash to clean a K&N filter everyday cause the cleaning kit costs 15 bucks canadian

cleaning kits are a waste of money, got an air compressor just use that then hose it down and possibly srcub it in the sink then rinse it out, i have had my K&N for almost 2 years now and i clean it about every weekend with soap and water or an air compressor and i never had problems yet

i know but thats all just bullshit
my friend drives a 74 vette and in 3 years he hasnt had a filter on his car and it runs perfect, his dad 67 mustang has not had a filter in 14 years, runs pefect so what does that tell you about filters, there not that important to waste money on special oils and crap

well if an engine in a mustang can last 14 years without a re-build and still run 11's then i dont think too much has built up, the only thing hes got to protect against is a home made screen that keeps out large dirt chunks and stuff

im not saying go drive around without an air filter cause i dont either, what im saying is dont waste your money on expensive replacement oils and all that wash kits for the filter when it dosent do much anyway
just hose it out with water and an air hose then throw it back on

instead of the kit, you can just throw the filter in a hot tub, then throw it in the dryer... once it's dry, just pour 2 Tbsp of Extra Virgin Olive Oil on it.... works like a charm....

im assuming all the oil does is help pick up micro dust because the filter is so open correct?
