I just got a 1993 Jeep Cherokee and it's got no radio. Its in pretty good shape 150k runs strong. I have a new one but cannot link up the wires. Don't know what the factory colors mean? If anyone has a diagram that would be great help. I have a civic also and found the wiring diagram and installed very quick... this one is so hard to track down....

I don't have a diagram but I do know that there are two hot wires on the feed to the radio. Also one ground and the speakers. The two hot can be found with a tester (which you should get if you don't already have one, they are cheap, $5, and very handy). One of the hot wires is for the dash lights. You can check it by using the tester and turning your dash lights brighter to dim. the light in the tester will fad. That is not the hot wire you want. you want the other one that only gets hot when the ignition is on and will not fad when you play with the dash lights. I made that mistake when i hooked up my stero. Fixed that pretty quick though. Don't worry about the wire diagram. you can figure this out easily enough with the tester. Keep on Jeepin! Richard

Get a harness adapter for your deck. Then just plug the Jeeps radio harness into the adapter and then plug that into the stereo.

I agree about getting an adaptor for the harness. However, If you still want a wiring diagram, try AllData. It is a subscription based service, but the info is much better than a haynes manual and they have full wiring diagrams from the factory service manuals

AllData is awesome but only if you use it all the time, if not then it is just a waste of a lot of money.
