Here's a riddle for you

Here, try to get this one... It's kinda easy though...

So you are outside a room, the room has only one door to get in, and no windows. There is a light inside the room. Outside the room, there are three switches. You have to figure out which switch operates the light. You can only go in the room ONCE to check. You CAN'T look under the sill of the door, and you CAN'T pull the switches out and use a multimeter or test light. So which switch opperates the light?

There is a light inside the room... So if the light is already on, then the switch that is different (ie: up, while rest are down) operates the lights. I'm reading between the lines here.

I disagree with it being "kinda easy". I've been puzzling my brains out trying to figure it out, but it aint working!

Nice try, but since I can't figure it out myself, I'm gonna tear apart your logic! sorry!

The light could be part of a 2 ended circuit, which means that a switch that is "on" in the room could conceivably look "off" and line up with the other 2 switches on the panel.

Which comes into the only idea I've come up with: Test all three switches individually before entering just to see what, if anything, they operate. If that all fails, open the door and use the switch on the inside!

Just because there is only 1 door and no windows doesnt mean that it isnt missing a wall on the other side, and you could just walk around and check.... lol

OK guys, here's the answer...

Turn on TWO of the switches, and leave the third one off. leave it like this for about 20 minutes. Then, turn ONE of the switches off. Then go into the room. If the light is on, then you know it is the switch that is still "on" If it is off, touch the bulb. If it is hot, then you know it was the switch that you had on for 20 minutes and just shut off. If the bulb is cold, then you know it was the switch you never touched and left off the whole time...

That was supposed to be kinda easy? You say kinda easy and I think it would be some stupid answer that you had to read in between the lines for. Oh well, good riddle.
