1992 Toyota 4runner problems

I have a 1992 4runner 4wd 5 speed that doesnt run anymore. One day, i was driving and it wouldn't go faster than 40 mph, so i decided to park it and see whats wrong. It wouldnt go anywhere after that unless i redlined it. People tell me its probably the clutch. Does any one have an idea whats wrong with my 4runner?

This happened to mine. I would be going down the road and it would just red line then go back, sometimes it wouldn't shift up and would just shift down on its own. I went and had my transmission rebuilt and replaced the speed sensor control. After we replaced the speed sensor control it worked great which made me think the guy who did my transmission just ripped off an already poor college kid....

The speed sensor control is this plastic gear thing that took almost no time at all to replace by Merchants. It was a little pricey because I wanted new. I have 213K on it now and it runs like new. Cannot complain.
