wheels and tires

what are some strong rims? I want strong rims that won't break, not too heavy but weight isn't a huge issue, price isn't that important either but I don't wanna blow all my money on wheels ya know. so just throw some ideas at me. or even just some companys to check out or web pages

and for tires, I want tires that have a speed rating high enough for like 135-145 not sure the letter on that though, but I'm thinking wheels are gonna be 17"x7-7.5 so I need some decent-good tires, nothing extreme, they will be for a daily driver but I want quality ofcourse, so suggestions and prices are appreciated, thanks

I could be wrong, but to me it almost sounds like you're willing to fork out the (semi) big bucks on wheels, and just want some reasonably well priced tyres to fit on them? My advice to you would to be look into some high quality tyres, the best you can afford, even if you have to save for another month or two, to fit to your new rims. Afterall, it's tyres that help you grip to the road, and stop. The better the tyres, the better your car will perform overall.

As for suggestions for you, I really can't help you out with wheel chioces, as I don't know what's available in your marketplace. I'm also not terribly familar with tyres in that size too seeing as I'm running on stock 16's at the moment. But I will say that the Continental ContiSportContact performs VERY well on my car. The grip is seriously top quality, and I find myself having to try quite hard to make the rear wheels start to spin, which I think is saying something.

I'm not looking for great quality wheels, I mostly want them strong so I don't break or crack them and have to get new ones, I just don't want them to be extremely heavy, but I want quality tires, which is why I want speed ratings to go up to speeds around 135-145, anything that has a speed rating that high has to be pretty good if you ask me, maybe I wasn't clear on all that the first time though.

That's cool, I was just a little uncertian about what you wanted is all.

The tyres I was describing, that I have on my car, are ZR rated, which is more than I think either of us will be able to manage (300km/h for 6 hours straight).

As for wheels. Generally, European market wheels are softer than Asian market wheels, meaning they're less likely to crack under impact. Usually, if the impact isn't too bad, they'll bend a little, and can be put back into place (don't try it at home!). But most of the wheels on the market today (excluding bargian basement crap) will take quite a bit to crack them. My advice to you there would be to stick to reasonably well knowin brands.

mine are $400 and super light, 14 lbs for 17". i believe 16" are 12 lbs.

adr concept pros, rs limited

that's what you should use if you are getting expensive tires and dont want to shell out extra money. there will be a slight wheel shimmy but they are really cheap and you don't have to worry about cracking them if you get good tires. just get run-flats.
