What gives?!!!!

I've just spent 6 days working on the underside of my Tamiya Peugeot something-or-other and now the instructions want me to cover it up with under-body panels.

The interesting thing is that the panels are clear/translucent, but the instructions want me to color them black. What gives?

Do you guys tend to use these panels, or no? If you use them, do you use them as clear/translucent or do you paint them black?

Also, can somebody suggest a good brand for a paint-brush designed for very fine painting?

Judd

You are given the choice of coloring them or leaving them clear, since you did all that work on the bottom, I would keep the panels clear

Leave them off or put them on...it's up to you. I put them on my kits since they are parts that are on the real cars.

Go to your local art store and find something by Daler-Rowney, basically anything that goes into a sharp point. Go for sizes like 00 or 1, art store brushes seem to be much better than what you find in model shops. I use Daler-Rowney "Dalon D77" brushes. They also do these brushes that are really fine but have 1 inch long bristles (called "rigger" brushes) that are really good for painting window surrounds and other straight stuff.
