gti vr6 vs 98 maxima

my brother has a 98 maxima, and i have a 03 gti vr6, we drag raced the other day and he smoked me bad, is this due to just poor driving skills, or is his car really that much faster? also, i'm not sure if it matters much, but my traction control was on

He has about 50 more hp than you but he is also heavyer than so it should be close. my guess is it might have been you if you got "smoked"

i am 6 speed he is auto. i thought a 98 maxima had 190 hp, where i have 200hp, am i wrong?

oh your right im thinking of the new ones. So you should have walked his ass the whole time. What happened did you miss a shift or bog? even if you boged you still should have caught him.

maximas are fast. I used to have a 95, 5 speed, I thought maximas had 240 horse power?

Maxima was 190 then went 222 at 2000 model, at 2002 I believe it went 260.

In any Case, I know the VR6 03model would smoke the 95 in a drag. You should have about .5 sec over him on the 1/4 mile. I think people don't realize that most drivers aren't actually performing at the levels listed in magazines, but with a few practices runs you should hand him his ass easy.
