Removing the Cassette Deck from a 93 Accord
How does this come off? The old Civics had screws in the side of the trim, but it's a single piece all the way across the top of the dash.

If it is anything like the 90-91 (should be, its a 4th gen) you have to get actually behind the tape deck and remove 2 screws. What I found helpful was a socket set, with multiple extensions and one of those socket angle adapter things. You should be able to see them using a flashlight behind the dash.

I see a couple of screws, but there isn't hardly any room around the screw, and it's below the casette deck / placeholder. There's two screws in the front, right above the deck, but they didn't seem to do anything...

They should be behind the tape deck, right under it (they dont screw right into the middle of the back of the deck) There is very little room, and they are a pain to get out.
http://www.geocities.com/joebob989/tapedeck.html a junk picture from paintbrush i made up quick, maybe it will help you a bit. I took mine out like 2 years ago, but this is what i remember.

You should see a little shiny piece of metal near the screws, a flashlight might help. I remember, it was a bitch to get that thing out, i actually had to lay upside down on my seat. Man my neck hurt.....
