Bad fuel pump?

I recently had my truck smogged, I explained to the tech that the truck was having a problem with hesitating on acceleration. He said it's most likely my fuel pump since all plugs, wires, cap, and rotor as well as all vacuum lines were recently replaced. My Chilton book says that the pump is in the tank. Everyone I've talked to has told me it's easier to remove the bed than it is to drop the tank. My question is, what do I need to disconnect or remove in order to slide the bed back to gain access to the tank?

I had the same situation on my truck. Make sure the sensing wire/ground ribbon wire is good. Both to the tank and pump/motor. Nissan dealer wanted to replace mine on my Pathfinder. Big bucks being internal. Just poke around and check for any outside damage or corrosion first.
