Question Engine technical question

Hey!
I m thinking of buying a D16Y7 to put in my 88civic LX 4DR..I was wondering if it would be an easy swap to do ......would it be a direct bolt in and would it bolt on to my stock tranny ? and what else would i need for this swap ?? Thanx !

It should be pretty straight forward really. That engine is mpfi so your gonna have to wire it for that. And basically all d-series parts are compatible. Your stock tranny WILL fit the Y7. Also, you wont need to modify any mounts or anything, it will fit in using your existing mounts.

Well, it depemds on how much hes getting it for. It would have way less miles than an a6, which i'd say is worth it. Performance wise though, its not a powerhouse but its... I dunno enough ro make a civic go

Yeah thanx for the info !! I know that the y7 isnt the best engine performance wise, but the reason why i m considering this swap is because when I bought the car ,the engine was blown so now I need to put one in it so it can get me around..I bought the car for 350$ can .....
I really would like to get a D16y8 or B16 but the thing is that I just graduated so I m kinda limited moneywise. The d16Y7 ,I might be able to get for 400$(can) and it s a litle bit more power than the stock engine so I tought it would b a good compromise !(92hp-->115hp)
