Remote Buick Park Ave 1991

Does anyone know how to program a new remote for a 1991 buick park avenue?

look under your dash, right above the accelerator pedal. there is a black connector there, it is your DLC.

I found a black connector, but there are only 12 pins in it, not 16.
Which pins should i jumper?

I got some instructions from those who sold the remote control.

Goes like this :
1. Turn ignition switch to OFF.
2. Jumper ALDL Connector terminal A to G. Door locks lock and unlock.
3. Press UNLOCK button on one transmitter. Door locks lock and unlock.
4. Repeat step 3 using other transmitter. If only one transmitter is beeing used, go to step 5.
5. Disconnect jumper from ALDL Connector.

We have tried to jumper terminal A to G, but nothing happens....
Does anyone of you know why?
Any ideas?

Hi tman!
I checked with an another mechanic, at a GM (Saab/Opel)company.
He said that my programming instructions was OK for a Buick Park Avenue 1991.
And he told me that I should try to put the ignition key in the Radio-position, not the Off-position, I did so, but no luck, so I went to my regular mechanic and asked him to connect my ALDL-connector to his computer.
He programmed the computer to fit my car, and he got a message saying something like "no errors reported" so the connector seems to be working...

If I am able to solve this problem I will let you know how.

Well, I dont have a 16 pins connector, mine has only got 12 pins.
Maybe the 1991īBuicks exported from USA to Europe was different from the Park Avenues in the US.

However, I solved the problem by moving over the cicuitcard with the radiotransmitter from the old remotecontrol to the new one.
I also moved the tape vith the three contactplates attached.
Well my remote is working perfectly now !

I know that this is not the right solution, but my remote is working OK
