winter rims, summer rims?
i was on this website and it said something about winter rims/wheels and summer rims/wheels. I have not heard of this before. Can anyone here explain this to me?

example:
my car has 17x7 wheels on it for summer... these wheels have so called ultra high performance tires on them. the ultra high performance tires are not designed to be used in snow AT ALL. and trust me, I got stuck with them on in a snow storm last year... not pretty, very very hard to control the car. winter tires and wheels are much narrower, like say a 15x6 wheel or something like that. also, the tire is not made for dry road performance. it will have a much more agressive tread pattern with the intent of getting better traction on the snow summer tires and wheels for high performance driving in good road conditions, winter tires to keep you safe and in control in less than ideal snow and ice conditions
