engine swap

I am contemplating an engine swap in a 1985 thunderbird. It has the 3.8 v6 now and I may go to the 302 v8.

Is there anything that I may encounter in the swap that I should be ready for or is the swap rather straight forward? I was thinking of using a 5.0 from a mustang and taking the rear end just for good measure, the stock one may not hold up under the 302.

I plan to remove all the electronics and go to a standard 4bbl carburetor instead of EFI.

Also does anyone have a vacuum diagram for this engine? I have lost my vent (the defrost still works) and cruse control in the process of removing the A/C system.

One last thing, this car seems to run hot, it has done this ever since we purchased it in 1990. Any thoughts?

Thanks for the help.
