Parking brake?

My parking brake will barely hold my car. Is the Parking brake in any way related to my Brake Master Cylinder problem or do I just need to adjust the cable? Thanks.

brake

nope the parking break are just for the rear wheels and have nothing to do with the master cylinder, just adjusting the cables should fix it, my rex was like that too especially the left rear.

wazup?

sounds like you've got more problems than you can shake a stick at... lol atleast no one smashed out your hatch, like happened to me this weekend..

the cable adjuster is just behind the ebrake lever.. you'll see the access cover. just tighten untill the rear drag abit then back off alittle..

what's wrong with your MS?

you know the brake booster can affect idle, if it goes bad.

next time you start her up, pump the brakes and hold them, then turn on the car. if the peddle falls, it may be the booster

haha yeah i can only count the problems but HERE WE GO!

1. Master Cylinder (Brakes)
2. Parking brake needs adjustment
3. Exhaust manifold bolts snapped
4. Funky idle
5. Muffler fell/ripped off
6. grinds a little going into 2nd

and im SURE there are more i just gotta wait for them to happen.

oh and for the master cylinder im not REAL sure what its doing wrong but im sure its the problem cause whenever i bleed the brakes it only becomes a temp fix on the brakes and no its not a leak in the brake lines...i checked.

online manual

here's the brake section of the online manual

and yea, it looks funky but use a open end wrench and tighten

btw, if the brakes are about gone, you may be out of adjustment on the cable..

on the grinding, change your tranny oil and add some lucas oil stabilizer...the tranny oil weight depends on what climate you live in

strait 30 for a hot climate and long distance driving
10-40 for most of us
10-30 for cold climates

my idle is ok, but my rex boggs alittle when she's cold, prob due to all the mods....

again, have you tried bleeding your head? when my civi was low on coolant it wouldn't idle at all!

also, if the therm is stuck open or improperly installed (check ball has to be strait up) it would also cause a idle problem

on the muffler, advanced has a 1 3/4 x 1 3/4 glass pack for about 30 bucks. you could just sawzall out the bad and put it in there for a temp, using clamps. this would get you untill you could get a exsaust shop to finish bringing it out the rear. my civi's the same way, from the axle back it's hosed. i'm gonna put a GP in the strait and let it vent under the car... for a temp fix that is

how'd you snap the exsaust man bolts? were you putting on a header or something? majestic honda should sell them

how about a pic? or what color is it? any mods?

well heres the deal on the exhaust manifold bolts...i got the car EXACTLY how it is...i noticed it was smoking so i went to replace the gasket, thinking thats the problem but then i realied, when i took the heat sheild off, the BOLTS JUST ROLLED OFF! and i looked and it clan snapped off.
Now about mods, i noiced the old owner put in some TOKO shocks in, after market fogs and STUPID racing pedals. no real mods. i think thats what im gonna have to take care of.
Hey thanks for all your help. Next friday is when im gonna get back to work on it. I'll tell you how it goes.
