Sorry about the scratch NiteSky. If it is deep, u can forget about polishing it up. I have lots and lots of scratches on mine...those damn bast***s just love scratching my car! Some are deep and I just can't get them off...

Japanese kids have a thing about keying cars. I had mine keyed twice. One not so bad, the one on my hood is pretty bad. I haven't tried touch up paint, but the colored wax works pretty well....I figure if I use touch up AND the colored wax....I can make it just about go away.....

This how I would fix it.

Go to Halfords, get the paint mixed for you color.

Spray the color into the spray can cap, till it puddles up. Then get a tooth pick, or a cotton swab and dip it into the paint. Then dab the paint onto the scratch. I would let it dry, then do it again, till it builds up above the surface.

Then block sand with about 320grit. till its smooth. Then flow it up with 500, 800, 1000, then 1500. Then buff it out. I have done many scratches like this. If you do it right, you cannot tell there was a scratch there.

Make sure you clean out the cratch first, before you apply the paint.

If you want, I have a scratch on my hood of my GTR. I could fix it tonight and take pics of it. It will show you the whole process.

Hey Nite,

Start off with 500 grit. It will take a little bit longer, but 320 will leave to deep of scrathes. Also, let the paint setup at least a few hours, so it bonds correctly.

I ran out of light tonight.

Here a pic of the scratch, and some rock chips.

I sprayed the paint into the bottom of a crushed 7up can, till it pools up. It does not take a lot.

Pic 3 This is after letting it setup over night, looks real bad.

Pic 4 This is after block sanding for a few min. Its very important to make sure you do not hit any ridges, if you do, you will cut right though the paint, and hit metal.

Take your time, when doing this. The end product is worth the wait.

This is after a 500 grit, 800 grit, and 1000 grit. I free hand the paint at first with 500 grit, then block sand with 800, and 1000.

Then I get the buffing wheel out with a med cut. This is after the med cut. You can use a med cut free hand it just takes a lot longer to get it done.

A buffing wheel is a must, if you are into cars, like we are

Here is the finish product. After a fine cut.

A med cut, is like a 1500-2000grit, and a fine cut is like 2000-2500 grit.
I am going to paint the GTR, so I will do the whole using this process to cut down the clear coat. It will look awesome, but you can never rush something like this, or it will mess up the whole paint job.

From start to finish, it took me one hour to do that small section. That is why a good paint job cost so much. Its a butt load of time.\

I hope this helps you guys.

If you have any question, feel free to ask. I be here all week
