gsr or corvette?

i got a 98gsr engine in my civic hb and was wondering if you guys think i can beat my friend on the track next week with his 85 vette in mint condition. never raced vette before.
to let you guys know about how fast i am, my closest race was last week against a 97 eclipse gsx he got me out of the hole but i came back and won by 2/10 of a sec.

ive driven a 79 vette, and it was a killer, just total power just by touching the pedal. Sorry but I go with the vette, but if he a bad racer i still go with the vette.

A GSX runs about a 14.9, so im guessing your times right around that. 14.9 isnt good enough to beat a nice vette though. Is the vette stock? Automatic? need more info.

does it matter if the vette is stock/auto? now i'm not a chevy expert but even a stock automatic vette will run better than a 14.9 right?

a new one sure does (2003)... vettes were always v8 though right? so i think youll still get beat... even the older ones (like the 85 hes talking about) should beat u unless he botches the launch, misses 2nd, takes 3 seconds getting it back in then misses 3rd also

and i've seen a vette lose to stock 2000 corolla (auto). there is no explaining it except the vette fucked up big time, that driver should be slapped for such a loss. because a vette should not lose to cars like these unless they are HEAVILY modified.

alright i went to the chevy forum and asked around what the 1/4 mile time is on an 85 vette and guess what.... you can take 'em. they all told me that 80's vettes aren't fast and that they run maybe low 15's or one guy even said that he had done up the whole exhaust and a few other things and his best time was a 14.3 so i guess a vette domination is within this guys reach..... that will be a sweet kill!

a 95 civic hb is a pretty light car to begin with, and a with a GSR B18C1 in it. So your about probably 14.8. A vette will run about a 14.4. so he's probably about .4 seconds faster than you... you going to have to hope he has his girlfriend in the car, and shes gonna have to weigh 400 pounds. lol!! all i can say is good luck, you probably can take him!
