Question Pennzoil Nismo GT-R Pearl Yellow

Planning to do this kit as my next project.

However I'm having some problems finding the Tamiya Pearl yellow spray paint in the UK.. Even HLJ don't have any

I was wondering if any of you out there have found an alternative to this colour that works well with the kit (testors, auto spray etc)..
Or.
If any of the UK members know of anywhere that still has some of the Tamiya stuff.

Cheers....

It was discontinued long ago, maybe they will bring it back someday.

I used Testors Colors by Boyd Smoothster Yellow on my Civic Type R and it looked very good to me. Some might make a claim that it kind of has a little orange in it, but I don't think so. I'm going to use it on my Skyline when the time comes. And I don't even know if you can get that paint there... Just what I got to offer.

Well you can try Testors Boyd iluma yellow (sp)? Or regular yellow with some powder pearl added in. Not usre if you add the powder in the color, or the clear though......

A long, long time ago...in a thread far, far away...

There was a thread about this a while ago, I believe it was determined that Tamiya's Chrome Yellow was a good substitute.

You can still get the paint from http://www.modelsinmotion.co.uk/
it's listed as Acrylic Paint Codes (TS): 85047 TS47 Chrome Yellow NOT Pearl Yellow
They had it last week as I purchased 2 cans online

I did this kit last year and used Halfords "Ford Signal Yellow". It came out great and the colour is very close.

I'll post pics if you want, or see it in the "Racing Skyline meet" thread:
Here...!!

Cheers for that.. As I mostly use Halfords auto sprays thats ideal (I dont have to buy all the Tamiya cans now)

Plus there's a Halfords just around the corner from the shop I've got the skyline on order from..
looks like its going to be a good weekend...
