Mustang GT500

Hi, I've just seen again gone in 60 seconds, and... well... I LOVE THE GT500!!!! I want one!!!, but like I cannot have a 1:1.... a 1/24 should be enough for now . Anyone of you knows where to buy one?? I know that revell-monogram has a 1/24 GT350, but I want a GT500, or there is only a difference in the engine?? cause if the only difference is the engine..... or the GT500 comes like the one in the movie with thoose bumpers???

Nope, the one in the movie is quite modified... in those days there were no CATZ Fog lamps in the middle of the front grill and above the head lamp, the bumper aren't quite original (no chrome at all) and no NOS who said "GO BABY GO", no side skirts with hole to let the double side muffler show through, hood is not right... well, this car isn't quite original, but I think someone have already done the ELEANOR... AMT I think... EEEwwwwhhh AMT !! Plan a couple of days to make it look like something good, AMT have some difficulties with reality versus scale model.

eleanor

Here is a link to a site about the Eleanor that was used in the movie.

Talks about specific build changes and has some really great reference photos...

Yeah, but I'm only 13. I still have plenty of years ahead of me to learn things.

WOW!! the one that kunta did....... I have no words!! I'll make mines like this, I know now that amt makes one, but no eleanor, I think that dont gonna put the nos kit with the "go baby go" but I DO make the bumpers and the lamps, I have the ones of a 00' subaru WRC montecarlo, so ok this way, but I think that the rims that come with the amt model..... will be a bit small, I gonna check hlj now, but... what size should I use with a mustang??? 17", too much?? 15"?? what size?

I've just been checking both gt500 and gt350 models from amt, and... well, the gt350 is easier to get like Eleanor, the front is similar, the gt500 is really different, the wheels are a bit horrible IMO, but the rest of the car... so I think that I'll buy the gt350, I'll only have to change the 350 to 500 on the side, and... change the front the side... but I'll have less to change than in the 500, but still... I need help with the rims

The rims on the movie car were Edelbrock 454 series 5spoke 18x9 in rear and 18x6 in front aluminum racing rims with bronze spokes.

Actually they're 17-inch "GT40" wheels made by PS Engineering over 10 years ago. Edelbrock came out with their own version more recently, the difference being all-chromed or silver and the spokes are close but not exact to the old Halibrands. PSE originally made them for the Cobra replica crowd that wanted the old Halibrand look but in 17". Since Cobras are mostly 5-lug, the PSE wheels were made with 5 spokes instead of the Halibrand's original 6-spoke design which used a knock-off hub instead of lugnuts.

The PSE wheels are exactly copied from the original Halibrands, except for the removal of the 6th spoke. Edelbrock's 454 wheels are much sharper between the spokes but to the casual looker they are identical except for the finish. Neither manufacturer makes them in 18".

Either way, you won't find one in scale.

I have a progress thread lurking around here on that car......

Anyway, I'm using the Halibrands that comes with the Fujimi Cobra kit. If you ask me, they look very good on the car. Wish I could afford these though: http://www.racingresin.com/products/..._003_image.htm almost 30 USD

yes too much money for those rims, so I have to search in hlj for a nice and similar 18" rims, I think that It will be difficult, but btw.... I dont have the model I've found that the 1/24 gt350 from monogram has a front bumper that is really similar to eleanor's one, but...dont have exterior mirrors and... well.. it makes the car a bit ugly, and dont know how to do them, and also dont know where to buy it
