Are sure thats how much power the gt has? My 91 Gt is supposed to start with 225HP. Anyways that cool that your getting the car you always wanted. As for cars you can beat My list that I have beaten (I am also stuck with an Automatic For now) A late 90s integra w/ exhaust and maybe an intake a hand full of civics and accords Tuned and untuned I cant remember what else for some reason. The ones that I have lost to is a new corvette and my buddies 98 Cobra with 400+ HP ( its fun to get obliterated)

from 89-92, the GTs had 225hp. 93 had 205, 94-97 had 215, and 98 had 225 (again). 99+ currently have 260.

9k isn't too shabby for a 50k GT, specially if its a 98. But you can get a 99 5 speed for maybe a grand more. If you just want style and grace, then a 98 is fine. I'd gladly take a 98 GT over a 99, if monetary issues allowed the PI heads, etc. IMO, they just look a whole lot better. But if you're just doing it to get into racing, then you really want to look into a 99GT. The 96-98s were God awfully slow.

You think the 94-98's look better? yuck. I hate the 2-piece headlights with a passion. And I love the 99+ saleens.

There are 'some' things on both cars I dislike. But my dream car is a 98 Cobra so you can see I'd be a bit more biased toward that specific body year.

But you're right, the two piece sucks. I hate those diamond cut ones even more!

I got a black 2001 Mustang GT a few weeks ago (260 HP) and it's a beast. Good call on the black my man, I think black looks real hot. My friend has a 96 GT, which I think has the same HP as that 98 youre getting, mines stick, his is auto, so..I can really smoke it with my 2001 but his still moves pretty good, and I think his engine has a nicer growl at idle for some reason.. bottom line, 9k for a 50,000 mile 98 is a very good deal, scoop that up. (oh PS. I paid 15,000 for mine, and that was a great deal. I have leather seats, the bullitt wheels, and the premium mach 460 sound system..got it with 24,500 miles)
