check engine light/blown fuse

ok so this morning i was driving my car kinda hard for 70 miles, when i pulled into the parkinglot of my friends work my checkengine light came on, then my car started to die.I pulled the carpet back the LED on the ecu was on steady and the car wouldnt start so i popped the hood checked the fuses an one was blown,replaced it and its fine now

whats this fuse for,what could it have been?
