GT Insurance

I was looking at getting a used 99-02 mustang gt. Was wondering how much more in insurance am I looking at over the v6. Btw, I was quoted 1800 a year for a 2003 v6.

You have to look at a couple of things:
What is your deductible? Also, what is your state minimum? Oklahoma is 10/20/10 while texas is 20/40/20. I payed alot more in Texas than in Oklahoma. Also, your insurance carrier matters.

I work for an Insurance company, so that much I know. And believe me, I did everything I could to get my rates down.
I pay around $2500 a year, while most people in NJ driving muscle cars are paying around $4000...so I really cant complain.
NJ just stinks with insurance. Its the worst state possible, my opinion.

I'm 23, pay about $3300 a year for my GT and my van, with full coverage on both. Obviously a new car will be more, and like stated before, different states, insurance carriers, credit step, and age will have an effect on rates. Since you have gotten a quote on a V6, why not call for quotes on a GT too?

Jesus, so you're paying a $500 deductible and its still that much? Go with Progressive!

SInce I'm obsessed with getting my first car I have been looking at insurance rates for a mustang. The trick is to register many cars at once. For a 17 year old male a mach 1 would cost 3750 to insure with his dad as the main driver (sure). Say that same 17 year old was also on a policy to drive a 1989 Toyota Pickup and a 1984 trans am. With both of these on 0 deductible (when are you gonna drive them? You have a stang!) and the mach at 500 deductible you could get a rate of 2056 a year. Pretty good to me.

Why not have your parents insure the car under their name and you drive it?

I go through an agent who gets me the insurance company....I keep calling them and calling them, repeatedly, and they arent working with me.....very annoying actually! I often wonder what I am paying them for.
Each time I call, they say, well what do you expect, you have a mustang GT.....its like, thanks buddy!

How old are you? I'd talk to Progressive. They've been very cool with me.
