What he said. But why would you get the loser IHI VF22 when you can get an 18G that bolts right up and doesn't have near the lag. Mitsubishi turbo's RULE.....
And don't forget about tranny upgrades. Prolly the 1st thing you should do , if this car is gonna be used to anywhere NEAR its potential. 1st and 2nd gear both like to shatter if loaded up too far , I'd at least consider an STi upgrade , and more likely a B+M or TRE tranny build.

I beleive the VF22 is comparable to the Mitsubishi 20G for power output. About 450 Hp. I know there are quite a few complaints about the IHI line in general , because they are very laggy and peaky. Spool up on the VF22 is supposed to about 3300 rpm , the 18G spools at about a 1000 rpm lower. The Mitsu 18G is a direct bolt-on , no adaptors required , and is prolly about a 425-450 Hp turbo. You'll want to get bigger injectors than the STi's , in that case , because I beleive the STi's are only good to about 400 Hp , if that.

Oh , and just do a keyword search on "VF22 turbo"
