For those of you who did the Sedan handle swap...

Could you get the lock rod off? Mine worked fine for many months. Now the damn lock rod started to slip off this zip tie I used to hold it to the handle rod (to keep the lock rod from flapping around). The way my keyless is is if it feels any feedback it will open the doors back up. So that stupid ass lock rod is binding against something making my doors open back up. I took the door panel off and tried to see how the lock rod came off but there is part of the door in front of it and I can't even see it. Someone on here said it was easy. I fail to see how it comes off. Anyone want to give me an idea?

It's easy to remove, but a bitch to get at kinda.

The lock-rod goes through a hole in an arm on the latch mechanism, and makes 2 90 degree bends...

Basically, what I had to do to get mine off was remove the three phillips-head screws on the edge of the door that hold the latch mechanism inside the door. I also unhooked the rods for the interior handle and lock from the handle side (they were still connected to the latch mechanism). And, I also completely uhhooked the exterior handles as well... Then, I had to fuck around with the whole assembly moving it around inside the door until I could get at the lock-rod that you're talking about... Then, it just comes right out...

good luck.

Actually... here's a better idea.

Get your dremel tool and cut the lock-rod off as low as you can get, and then remove the remaining piece... I bet that'd work good.

I don't want to cut the rod cuz if I ever need to put the normal handles back in I want the rod there.
