88 5.7 4x4 EGR

I have an 88 Silverado 5.7 4x4 that i recently replaced the EGR in. The prob I was having before was: driving on level surface about 40 to 50 MPH with the tranny in overdrive, enging turning around 1000 to 1500 RPMs, when accelerating a small bit (staying in OD without making the torque converter kick in) the truck acts like it is studdering, when the torque converter kicks in (staying in OD still), it doesn't act that way. The EGR came from AutoZone, could that be my prob? Plug wires and plugs have been changed. Anybody have any suggestions?

Thanks.
