Question GST to GSX conversion???

Anyone know how much this would cost and what parts would need to be replaced?

Ummm well Nismo GST are FWD, NOT RWD, and Road Race Engineering did it for $8000. Thats parts and labor. They say it is just cheaper to sell a GST and spend a few extra for a GSX.

Wow, sorry for making a simple error (no, im not being a smart ass, really). Yeah, i knew it was FWD and i knew it could be done, sheesh. Ever think that if i reply like that, im making it so when someone replies with an answer that i would like to know as well, so i can get a message in my email for convenience?

Yeah, i know it can be done, i was interested to know how, and $8000 isn't worth it.

Sorry to piss ya off Eclipse

i doubt it would cost that much if you did it yourself, all you need is awd front axles, a transfer case, a driveshaft, a rear differential, and upgraded rear brakes. my buddy with a 92 talon had a little racing accident and ripped out his rear differential, and got one off a 98 gsx for $500 from a junkyard.

Hell, with all the work you'd need to do you'd be MUCH better off just selling the GST and then using that $ to buy a GSX. Granted they're getting harder and harder to find in decent, un-riced condition, but it would be much less of a hassle. I'm looking for a really nice 1G TSI AWD/GSX now myself so believe me it's much easier, but takes a lot of looking. Good luck either way.

All the parts can be purchased used from various places for fairly low prices. Just make sure you get the right transfer case for your transmission as some have different spline counts. Actually if you could find an AWD with a blow engine or something of that sort you could probably get all the parts for about $2000 and the work isn't too hard to do. It all just bolts on.

Good Luck

Ok miguel I realize you are new, but this thread is from 4 years ago. That is rediculous. Plus, you really added nothing to the thread anyway.

Next time look at the date before posting, and say something worth saying.
