Air Conditioner

For a few weeks my airconditioner has decided to stop functioning. However, this morning the compressor kicked in and started turning, and it was putting out CoLd air. I did notice that the a/c led in the interior was not lit, and the compressor kept kicking in after i turned the a/c on and off. What do you think? Low pressure switch? I did also notice that the compressor was making some scraping noize when it was turned off.

my cousin took the a/c out of his 87 rx-7 last summer and I don't think he had too much of a problem, I don't know how much different it would be on the 240 but I'm gonna say you should set off a good amount of time to work on it, plus you'll drop 60-70 pounds which is never bad

Maybe the ac is the new lead based system rather than the old freeon (sp?)...that would explain the 60-70 lb figure.
