You should be able to get an SR20det FWD engine for it.

That would net you about 205-210 at the wheels. With a little tuning, and dialing up the boost you should get 250 or so. That's a lot of power for a little 92 sentra.

Engine should be around $2500. Minor upgrades... $1000. Install... $1500. $5000 for a very strong turbo engine. You will eat some V-8's for dinner with that.

have fun!

If you are interested... contact Travis.

www.forcedinductionracing.com

He can get the engine for less than $2k. He is very well known throughout the Sentra world, and is even a member of this forum.

I would think the engine itselft would use the same motor mounts as the old SR20, as it does in the B15's. The transmission on the other hand might be a problem? Did you get the 6 spd tranny from a Spec as well? I am not sure the QR25 will bolt up to a 5spd SR20 tranny? Anyone else know this?

If you have the tranny you should be able to drop the whole powertrain right in and plug and play. You might think about relocating the knock sensor and disconnecting the balance shafts before you put the engine in the car. I would also go ahead and get a header for it right away. That sounds like a great project... The torque of the QR in a light little 92 SE-R. nice car!

the qr25 has different mounts than the sr20, even in the b15's, those would all have to be custom
you need the ecu and a wiring diagram for both cars so you can splice it all together. From what I've heard the trannies (sr20 5-spd and qr25 6-spd) are very close, and I believe you might even be able to bolt your 5-spd up to the qr25. You also need new axles (if you swap the 6-spd as well) and gauge cluster most likely. The throttle would have to be converted (qr25 is all electronic, sr20 is cable). A lot of money will have to put put into it, but it can be done. Actually I can recall one person who swapped the qr25 into a nx2000 I believe (same basic principle as into a sentra). Pretty much, unless you're being paid to take the qr25 then it's not worth it, because you can get a DET and stick that in, or simply turbo your existing motor, with much less work and money.

Vvl

As of now, I'm in the process of swapping an SR20VE NEO VVL engine into my 92 SE-R. In my case, I wanted naturally aspirated power, although turbo does provide more torque. If you wanted pure street power, I would recommend the DET. However, be careful to keep up with your engine, (needless to say) to avoid detonation. Lastly, I have a question to those who have swapped before. What kind of headers fit this engine being that it's JDM? I was looking at Hotshot headers but didn't know the exact specs.
