The Tps went bad in my 91 civic DX, so i replaced the throttle body and reset the ecu, and everything worked fine for about 2miles. Then it threw the same code again, and started acting shitty. I checked the voltage on it and got .68V closed throttle and 4.6 WOT. Does this indicate it needs to be replaced again? that would be some horrible luck. Is there any way to adjust it on this year civic my shop manuel says no but if there is please tell me. Any help would be appreciated thx.

There's no way to adjust it really... but you don't have to replace the entire throttle body. If you can get ahold of a TPS, you can just remove the old one and put the new one in.

They are attatched to the throttle body by some shear screws, and once those screws are tightened at the factory, the heads of the screws are sheared off. So, in order to remove the old one, you have to take a dremel tool with a cutting disc and cut slots in the top of the screws and then use a flathead screwdriver to remove the screws...

Sorry, I don't know what could be causing your TPS problems...

When you replaced the throttle bodie - was the TPS on the new one, screws attached? If it didn't have the shear-screws on, it means someone has tried to modify it and there's your problem - exchange it for another untouched body/TPS.

If not, check your wiring maybe. Oh - and if it wasn't from the same model of Honda, there can be varience, but not that much

What were the original symptoms you were trying to cure? That might help people with the diagnostics.

Update here just for people who might have the same problem, went to the junk yard and got a new(old) throttle body it's next to imposible to adjust the tps to the correct specs,which are supposdly .5V closed and 4.5WOT. Best solution get a new one, just for refrence i checked the tps voltage on the new one and it was .66V closed throttle go figure. Anaway it fixed the code 7(tps), hope this helps.
