f**king pigs

last night my buddy and i were driving in rogers and i saw a mustang so i decided to race. it was only a v6 w/o cattys so i thought i might give it a try so i put it into 2nd going about 45 and took off. i was keeping up with him for a while until my friend called me on my cell and told me a cop passed him. (my friend was way behind me) so i took the next turn and got the hell outta there. i drove through some buisiness parking lots and hid behind a warehouse building. but he found me. he slapped me with a ticket but said i was this close to going to jail but i had a good attitude so he just left me with a ticket. i was wondering if anyone here had any advice as to lowering the cost of insurance in any way. my dad said i could go to defensive drivers course again and lower my insurance little bit. any word from you guys?

p.s. - keep it for the track

You gonna get it fixed??? If you get it fixed, and the insurance company doesn't know about it, how can your rates go up???

sorry to hear bout that buddy. i gotta go w/ them an say TRY to keep most of it at the track. yes, i race some too, but the track is by far the best place to run it.

good luck w/ the ticket, the LEAST that'll happen is that u can get it reduced.

Looking back at this again, I just had a friend of mine put his 3rd Gen TA through a tree while racing. He's okay, and the car is fixable, but it was avoidable. Such a hard thing to avoid when it's so fun to street race...

I've been lucky in that the only two tickets i've recieved were for dumb stuff like semi-nodding off coming home on the highway from school after a long day- 85 in a 65 (but he wrote it down as 83 to keep me from stepping up the next level.) Thankfully, on the occasions when I DO intentionally speed (over 90 mph) I didn't get tagged (knock on wood.) Every time I tell myself I won't do it again, but eventually, Dr. Jekyll yields the wheel to Mr. Hyde, and it's almost like I CAN'T stop myself- something about a screaming engine and racing heartbeat. To my credit, I only do those kind of speeds when it's late at night (93 northbound between Tilton and Bristol NH is DEAD at 11:30 at night.) So, the only person really at risk is myself

I think what makes the open road so appealing, is the variables- turns, hills, and scenery encroaching on the road to whizz by. I suppose the predictability of the track is just more, well, predictable.

indeed. i deserved 80 percent of the speeding tickets ive received, and i dont feel bitter about a one of them. the only times ive felt bitter about being pulled over are when they pull me over and search my car for no reason

They can, I know around here if your car gets confiscated, it goes to auction.

Yeah, I don't buy into that whole "cops are pigs" deal. I've seen too many racers on the local news doing damage to themselves and killing a few bystanders in the process. I understand the need for speed but keep it legal and on the track and don't bitch if you get your hand slapped. It's the few jackasses with too much hp that give racers a bad name, just like the few hard ons with badges that give cops a bad name.
