Got my skunk2 springs on, product review
ok as some of you have have read i had some dropzone coilovers on the front and the set for the rear didnt fit but the front was hella bouncy so i ordered some skunk2 springs off some sit for $160 (badass deal from what i hear). i put them on 2 days ago.
these springs own. put simply, they are bad mother-f-ing ass. like 40% of the bumps result in bouncier than stock like 20% of the bumps result in SMOOTHER than stock and the remaining 40% result in the same as stock. i can really barely tell that it is bouncier than stock. it is much more stiffer in the turns but when i hit a bump in the road its hardly noticeably stiffer than stock. i have KYB GR-2's so that might be part of why it isnt that bad... they lowerd the car perfectly also. 2.25-2.5" it said. about 1/2" wheel gap (195/50r15s). only scrape coming out of my driveway, and thats it, havent bottomed out on anything so far. |

![]() Man, I can't get enough... Now I want the Mugen 26mm rear ITR swaybar. Is that too extreme coming from a stock ITR 22mm bar? nah, I don't think so! I'd have that ish if it wasn't friggen $270!!!

Thats a nice upgrade from 22mm. You will want to weld any brackets that mount :: sway bar to sway bushings chasis. Bolts may tear away under FUN driving conditions.
I saw a Prelude at the junk yard with 4-wheel steering. Possibly swap that to the civic & then thought, hell no. That would be a bitch & need sevre redneck engineering. |

Re: Got my skunk2 springs on, product review
90gs, Sounds like you got it all worked out with your springs. Did you just swap out your Dropzones for the Skunk2 entirely, or did you slip them over the sleeves of the DZ's and toss the DZ springs away? Eitherway it sounds like a good deal you got on the Skunk2 springs.

Good point, but for me personally having the Beak's Performance subframe reinforcement kit in use with my ITR bar (a must have with ANY bar over 17mm in size) I don't have to worry about any subframe damage stuff. The Mugen 26mm bar would be a simple swap out and drop-in deal for me. See for yourself below...

completely ditched the dropzones. replaced with 2.5" skunk2 lowering springs. such a nice ride compared to dropzone.
going over those reflectors in the road i cant even feel them, only makes a noise. i can feel the ones that dip down and have the reflector in it but the one where its flat road and has a reflector on the road that only makes noise. (example of road condition that is smoother than stock) |

I've heard great stuff about the Skunk2 springs.

Skunk2 Springs
Hell yeah,
I installed Skunk2 springs on my 99 Si... They are hella bad for the price. I picked them up for $169.99 including shipping.. Can't beat it! I also installed new SPC control arms front and back for camber adjustment. |

Whats are the spring rates on the skunks?
I can also promise you blown shocks or leaky seals on those GR-2s in under a year. Those shocks are nothing more than an OEM replacement.
