Complete: R33 Nissan Skyline GTS25t "Drift Machine"

Well, 90% Complete. Still have to sort out the paint and the glue is still drying (Which you will be able to see, especially on the front indicators where it looks white) This was my first real attempt at making something look decent, following the FAQ's of this site..

Problems encountered:

1. I didn't tape up around the windows properly when I painted, and it looks really crap.

2. The chassis doesn't fit the body properly. I'm going to have to do some huge mods to get it to sit right - You will be able to tell in the pictures just how out of line the wheels sit (especially the back!!)

3. The paint isn't anywhere near as good as I'd like it to be, made alot of mistakes.

I'll be changing a few things around tommorow so look out for more pictures on progress. The paint hasn't been waxed and only compounded in spots, so the finish on it should improve after I rub it back some more and wax it up.

Now on with the pictures!! Please leave your comments below, constuctive critisism is welcomed.

Hope you like

Ryan.

Ryan that looks great. It appears to me you have very minor adjustments to make as it does look really nice!

Thanks for the comments. The kit is basically out of the box, the decals are ones which came with the car. I've attached a picture of the kit - It's an Aoshima one.

So, Overall are you happy with the way the kit went together? Any problems with the kit itself? Sorry for all the questions, but I am in the market for an R33 myself.

Chris
To be honest I am quite unhappy at the moment with the kit, as the wheelbase is WAY too short and the whole suspension setup is out of whack due to this. I'm going to have to modify it myself so that it will fit together properly. Apart from this I guess the kit is fine - Just the major problem with the wheelbase length being way too short. Also there's putty required to make the kit fit the body flush.

The only Modifications I performed were:
- Opened up the middle of the front bar
- Puttied up the gaps around where the kit fits the car
- Left it wingless
- Painted the wheels custom colour

Beware also when ordering this model as the wheels it uses are Male and not the usual female type. Another thing I found weird about this kit was that it has an automatic transmission inside the car. Pretty weird for a car called "Drift Machine".

Thanks celsior, Looks like the Tamiya kit is still the top choice.
At any rate it still looks like a nice build you did. Pictures do it justice?? LOL

It looks very indeed, always wonder what thet kit was like.
What I would say is you didn't paint the edges of the windows (glass) black only the rubbers.
