Question Maxima vs BMW 323

Okay, my buddy has a 2002 (i think) BMW 323 coupe, red (lol), and is VERY proud of it. He likes to rev the engine in front of me and show off some. I am wondering if my 2000 Maxima GXE could take his BMW in a short street race, probably 0-60... some short track, less than 1-4 mile. I dont know the specs on his car, but i know german cars are pretty fast. I would like to get yalls opinion so i dont make a fool of myself.

--Thanks

We are both stock automatics.... Well, right now he is stock, but i bet his daddy will buy him mods later (he said he is going to do a M3 conversion)... but for right now ALL STOCK. Seriously, i would like to put him in his place, but i am not sure if i can. I know he has a very quick car and it would be close either way, but I would still like some strait up input. If i cant win, i cant win... but if i do, lol, man it would be a great kill.

Best thing you can do is run the snob, if he wins, accept it and show you are the bigger man and be a good sport about it. If you win, well... you don't even have to say anything

dude, seriously, those things are not fast AT ALL in a straight line...they handle like crazy, but are underpowered and overpriced compared to a beastly VQ

Maxima should win

Hey, I have a Dodge Stealth R/T, but I have a love for all cars. I'm not a Maxima expert, but, I'm trying to get my mom to get a new one...don't the 2000 Maxima have 240 or 260 horsepower? Eitherway, it will kill a 3.2.3 BMW. You probably won't have to worry about any until you get to the x.3.0 or x.3.5's. 3.2.3 = 3 series with 2.3 liter engine, I believe. That's how the 3.2.8 is (2.8 liter) and 3.3.0 (3 liter). Both are slow as christmas, so I can only imagine the 3.2.3 pulling a 12.5 in the 1/8 mile...probably 16.5 in the 1/4 mile. Don't worry about that car...go race him.

The 2000-2002 Max's have 255HP and the 2003-2004 has 265HP FYI.

I might be off on the model years, I just woke up, so if I am then sorry.

2002-2003 Max's= 255 horses
2004 Max's=265 horses.

i'd say you go at him like a mad dog.. beat him good and then don't let him live it down.. 323 is a girl's car.

I have a 2k GXE and I have spanked every 323 I've ran against, they are SAS (Slow as Sh*t) by the end of 2nd gear you'll start to walk away and by third you will just pull and pull away from him by 4-5 cars, just torquebrake to 1800 for about 1 second and then floor it once the start is signaled.
