Stock GS-R exhaust manifold cracked?
Hey, let me throw this out there and see if anybody has run into this: My sister's 94 GS-R has a (sometimes loud) ticking noise coming from the exhaust manifold area. It has a stock manifold and I haven't had a chance to remove the heat shield to inspect it, but I think the manifold might be cracked. It seems noisier when it is cold, and you can smell exhaust fumes in the engine bay. It is definitely either cracked or the gasket(s) is leaking. Has anybody here seen cracked manifolds on these? I won't get a chance to work on it until monday.

Ive never heard of anyone crack a exaust manifold before.....

The bottom pipes have been known to crack. Mine did. The top piece is pretty much impossible to crack. Most likely it's the gasket and if it did crack then it's the perfect time to get an aftermarket one.
