carpet shampooing
Hey everyone,
I just joined this whole board deal, and I've been running a small detailing business for five months now, and i read some back posts and noticed a couple of you guys owned detailing businesses as well and wondered if any of you could help me out with some info on which company out of the shampooers is better to go with. I've had a recently large call for shampooing and my machine can't handle it. So I'm looking to purchase a new one. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated Thanks, Kori

Welcome to AF
What machine are you currently using? Do have a mobile service or fixed operation? Hot water extractor will do the best job. Look for atleast 140" water lift, two or three stage motors, & spray pressure of 100psi. Heat can be either internal tank or external line. Consider purchasing the largest you can afford, this avoids re-filling/empty time. If your mobile look for a nice lightweight unit unless mounted inside van, inside pick-up bed, or in traler. Carpet extractors www.topoftheline.com www.rightlook.com There are much better deals than those sites - you must find that yourself. I have a small karcher cold water extractor & also a large heated extractor(mytee). I have heard people say Mytee is no good, but I havent had a problem with mine in 1 year - runs almost every day. I purchased both units from a Detail Shop going out of business. |

Re: Carpet Shampooing
Thanks for the reply,
I have right now a 5 year old and very abused Rug Doctor which I bought way back when for just doing my own home vehicle. It suffices barely for getting out light stains and such, but with the current volume I have the thing will absolutely crap out within a month. I am a mobile detailer/fixed location. I do it out of my home, but I'm thinking of going 100% mobile because there seems to be more demand for it. I have a Chevy Silverado Extended Cab & Extended Bed so I'm pretty sure any thing I buy I'll be able to mount into this big boy. -Kori-

you guys are professionals i know - and you'll prob laugh at me, i know this too - but shout makes what seems to be baby whipes. we use them in the restaurant i work at to remove wine stains and i jacked a few for my car and they worked great - perhaps you should look into them for autos that have small stains that aren't worth the effort of setting up your machines for.

I always try to follow the motto that if it works...go with it, but with each person you talk to there will be 500 different ways you can do something.
