Rear door won't open.

My '01 Montana has a stuck rear hatch. Electrically, it's ok. I can put the key in the lock, and turn it back and forth; all the other doors will lock/unlock.

I can use the keyless entry and hear the solenoid in the door cycle back and forth. The problem is that the latch handle still feels as if the door is locked.

My factory manuals haven't been much help. Can someone post a picture of the latching mechanism? I'm going to try opening it from the inside, with a small tool, if someone can point out to me which part of the latch mechanism I need to trip to get the door open.

I can't do anything until I get this door open, and I'm afraid a shop will just butcher the trim if I take it in.

I was able to fix it myself; all I needed was a $122 part.

Anybody ever has this problem, let me know and I'll tell you what I did.

how do you get the door open from the inside cant get my arm in there

so how did you get your back door open I've got all the books and have tried to get mine open several times I,m not to sure whats broke in there yet but the key wont turn at all and the handle seems to be fine and hooked up.
