Strong like bull
this is to all you running heavier loads. what is needed to strenthen the engine......ive got a 98 gsr stock and i was wanting to know what you guys did...and what companies are good to go with...theres so many imitations and lots of BS out there so i figured the best answer would come form people who've used it ...thanks for the info.....

How much power are you looking at making? What fuel and engine management? Whose turbo kit or what parts did you use to piece it together?

Parts
sorry been really busy didn't have time to check email. But im running a t3/t4 with upgraded fuel pump and fmu, My ultimate goal is somewhere in the 300hp range and hopefully somewhere in the 12's.........i plan on upgrading my fuel system alot with a piggy back and injectors and the rest....however, its my internals that im worried about because its all stock. so i was wondering if you guys knew any good turboed cams and what kind of rods, pistons, springs, you guys would recommend...thanks for any input.....

if i was you i'd go with the skunk 2 turbo cams, full skunk 2 valvetrain(valves, valve springs, retainers), eagle rods, JE forged low compression pistons, if you go the cash then you should also get it sleeved.

For 300 horsepower save your money on internals and put them into a GOOD EMS. Your engine will last much longer with stock internals + hondata or AEM than it will with a forged bottom end and a crappy FMU. After that save your money for some good pistons and rods (not eagles, spend the extra 300 bucks and get some billet crowers, pauters, manleys, or ollivers) and sleeving. For a motor that isn't going to see many revs keep the stock GSR cams, new springs and retainers are a good idea, maybe some stainless ferra valves, and get some cam gears to help dial out a little more overlap.

cool..
Sorry little new on this =, sleeving is what again?, plus i was wondering about porting to fit over sized pistons what do you guys think on this issue......is it better to stay stock size or what.
About the cams one says keep stock, the other skunk 2, what the advan and dissadvan? Lots of questions yeah, thanks for your guys time.......

You don't need to do any porting to fit oversized pistons, but if you want to do anything more than an 81.5MM piston you need new sleeves. For a street motor I highly recommend going a few MM's over, especially with dropped compression and a big turbo. 83MM bore is my favorite for a street motor. About the cams, so far I havn't seen a single B-series VTEC honda running skunk2's turbo cams OR crower turbo cams (I have seen a few LS' running crowers, but that's it) and people are making plenty of power with stock GSR cams, so why spend more money for something that isn't proven yet. In the event that somebody finds out skunk2's give you 20 WHP and much better spool you can always buy them later. |
