99 chevy suburban

While driving today, the radio quit, the wipers slowed to a crawl, the dash lights went out, the engine idled rough and the vehicle lost cosiderable power. The accelorator had to be pressed almost to the floor to take off from a stop. It's a 99 model, 2wd w/ 54K.
Any ideas?

Sounds like the electrical system. What is your volt gage reading?
Once the system voltage gets below about 10 volts, strange things start to happen.

Volt meter was below 10. I assume it's the alternator. It's in the shop now.

Thanks.
