cut him some slack. it took you just as much energy to tell him to search the forums then it would've taken you to give him a link.

One thing to keep in mind is that lambodoors' hinge kits are universal, as far as I can tell. the decah link I gave you are designed for the car, use the factory hinge mount points, and are designed so that the proper amount of force is used to lift the doors. It also comes with hinges for both doors, and are incredibly strong. As far as I can tell, they're the best ones out there without modifying your latch mechanism.

but, if you like the lambodoors version, go for those.

I actually took a real look at lambodoor's site. Those, as you can tell, are just instructions. If you want to do this right, you should get a kit. You're going to be spending hundreds, most likely more than 1000 bucks to get it to work, and you won't be using a pre-made kit. you'll be fabricating it on your own. now, if you're great at this sort of stuff, go for it. If you want the safest possible way to go about this, go for the decah doors.

No matter what, without heavy modification of your latch mechanism, any aftermarket lambo doors are going to open as follows: You open them about 6-12 inches as you would a normal door, and then rotate it upwards. It's not going to be self powered, just weight-supporting. real lambo doors, of course, open at an upwards angle from the get-go, and are powered all the way. This is because they're designed to do exactly that. Your doors are designed to open outwards, so that's what you have to do. only then will they go upwards.

If I were you, I'd save the cash to do it right rather than risk it on potentially useless instructions from a terrible website with pictures of lambo-door equipped cars *that aren't even using their product*. If you look at the pictures in the gallery, many of the pictures are of the decah doors; the website is just claiming them as their own. The website isn't even completed yet.

In other words, I wouldn't trust it worth a damn. I'd go with a real kit for my car.

I could be wrong, but I smell trouble.

Re: Vertical Doors on the eclipse

I contacted lambodoors.com and they sent me a price sheet for all their parts.

you can pick up the parts at a scrap yard for cheap. abou 200 bucks.

The decah version is not really a true lambodoor conversion from the kit car and the actual lamborghini perspective.

You need to use struts to reinforce the door. without struts, the decah door hinge is illegal in most states and provinces as it violates the highway safety act.

Lambodoors.com also offers some other cool conversions, like the flip hood. I wonder where i could get the hood pins for that.

I think with lambodoors, flip hood, and custom upholestery in my will be better than spending the thousands need for a body kit.

I want my car to look oem but not be oem.

It shouldnt cost more than 400 bucks to put the lambo doors on.

I purchased the LamboDoor.com kit. And i have also purchased the parts, cost approx 185 at a salvage yard. The parts were actually cheap, the expensive part was the labour to get the parts removed. i could have done it myself but they did not allow me too.

Anywho, both fenders are removed right now, and the doors have been disconnected. I will begin to remove the doors today.

I have also decided to shave my door handles in addition to the lambodoors.
