Code 16 problem??
So im doing to more engine work on my car....(more about that later...
) I start my car to see if im leaking any fuel, and i get a chekc engine light. I check the ECU and its a code 16, which is Fuel injector. Now does this mean the fuel injector is not getting power? or that the injecotr is clogged or something?? someone please help clarify this for me. I know what injecotr it is , its the one farthest to the drivers side.

why dont you pop it out, let it sit in some injector cleaner for a while then reset the ecu. If it doesnt go away, test it and see if you need a new one.

because popping it out would require taking the fuel rail off, and i would have to have some injecotr cleaner to let it soak it some, which i dont, and i dont have time nor a way to go get some.....resetting the ecu, tho i can do.. im lazy and dont want to take the injecotr out if i dont have to, thats why i was curious if it was an electrical problem.

generally when a code goes off for the injectors, its because of something electrical. that may be anything from bad wiring, a poor connection, or just too much resistance inside the injector. resistance in the injector can actually tell you a few things about the inside of the injector, like whether the pintle is opening inside it, or if its stuck open or closed. you should disconnect the plug, and check the resistance of the plug and the injector, and if everything is fine (look in a manual for the specs, i dont remember them) then look for a crimp in the wires.
clear the code, and if you cannot find anything wrong with what i just posted, then hope the light doesnt come back on. if it does, time to clean/rebuild/replace that injector
