Clutch Pedal friggin stiff

i don't know if this is normal or not, but the clutch on the 91 civic se i am going to buy is really really stiff. like leg about to die stiff. Also, is it really normal to slip the clutch at 5500rpm and not squeak the tires. Looks like its time for a new clutch

If you slip it, no it wont spin. Dump it @ 5500rpm & you should spin. There is no reason to use a very stiff clutch unless over 250HP. I tore me up some tires yesterday on the Si. Nice long burn-out w/ e-brake 1st, 2nd, & held 3rd until the damn temp starting going up.

i got a question, if your clutch is too stiff can you fix that, make it easier to push in, like somehow you can adjust it, theres such a difference between my si and dx, when i drive the dx now my leg gets sore

Same here std is so smooth but my Si is a pain to push in. I know it got a new clutch before i bought it. Im the only owner to use the clutch in it now. Is it possible that maybe mine and these other si have worn clutch cables???

Make sure the clutch cable is good - lubed/ajusted - not binding
Clutch pedal adjusted & lubed
Besided that you really cant change the stiffness by adjusting, only replacing.

the "stiffness" of the clutch should be determined by the fingers in the pressure plate...higher performance clutches have stiffer fingers to hold pressure on the flywheel better....thus the pedal will feel stiffer when you push it in. Otherwise, you may have some binding in the cable and that could be a bad thing. I currently have some binding where my cable goes thru the firewall, and it creaks and makes noise..I need to fix it before it breaks
