Torsion Bars

What is your opinion of turning torsion bars on a 2000 yukon. I would love to at least even the rake.

If you change the setting it will affect how the truck rides (makes it stiffer) and will change the camber and toe settings on the front end.
If you make the change have the alignment adjusted to compinsate.

Is there any other worries I should have? If it is raised and I begin not to like it can it always be turned back down the way it is now and ride the same.

You can always put it back to the factory setting. Then you have to havethe front end aligned again.

got an 01 yukon, sweet ride eh? well i did the torsion bar thing for 'bout 8 months, loved it, did the turning cause i wanted bigger tires... after 8 months i turned them back, but only cause i got a 6 in lift... u can fit 284/75 tires with the torsions turned to level out truck...

I have a "99" denali and i dont like how the front is a little higher then the back or maybe it is even, I would like the back to be higher then the front. I dont know much about cars or trucks, are torsion bars in the front and the rear? if i lower the front will it mess up the truck in any way. and how do I do it?

I'm almost positive your Denali uses torsion bars up front. You can certainly loosen them a bit to drop the front end by 1" or so. You'll definitely need a front end alignment right away, so it might be a good idea to do this at a shop, if possible. They can loosen them, you can decide whether you like the look, and then they can align the suspension.

GMMerlin said it better than I could, but it will make the ride more firm. Like with most modifications, it's a personal thing - I loosened mine to drop the front ~ 1". I find the ride to be firm, but not overbearingly so. I do take speed bumps and other known road imperfections with a bit more caution and less speed.

Bottom line - I don't think the ride quality would be any less firm if I chose a different route to drop the front, i.e. new springs.

As I understand it, a spindle swap is the only way to drop the vehicle without adversely effecting ride quality. Here's a link to what appears to be a great solution: http://www.mcgaughys.com/
