X's V6 Belt or Chain ??
Hello everyone,
Question of the day.. Is the Xterra's engine BELT or CHAIN driven? I was reading an article somewhere (forgot where though..) about this.. I always had this notion that Nissan's engines all used Chains.. am I wrong? xterrasesc |

I know Brent was kidding (using the
symbol), but I think it's better for someone to add their question under an old but appropriate thread. It helps keep the info from being scattered all over the place. Plus it shows he's searched. ![]() New members are going to be searching for lots of info, and I'm sure will have more questions about what's there. |

Yeah, I was pretty much kidding, especially on this topic, but he had dug up a few old posts elsewhere too.

The dealer I bought my 2002 Xterra from said "chain", and went on about the local factory making chains for GM vehicles...But having had a Toyota Supra with DOHC driven by cog-belts, I didn't buy his line... ...Besides which, he's a salesman; WTF do they know??? :silly2: |
